It is important to note that the EOT is not a throttle, but rather a communication device that tells the virtual blokes in the machine room what you want them to do. This means the player need to monitor, and confirm that the requested action has actually taken place. For instance the EOT will become unresponsive for a while if the diesels are flooded, and commands may need to be reissued to take effect.

The EOT features 5 speeds forward, and 4 speeds in reverse. These speeds refer to a specific shaft RPM. there are different RPMs depending on whether electrics and diesels are used. The RPM can be fine tuned using the both engines 10 faster/slower on respectively the starboard/port side EOT.

The engine order telegraph (EOT for short) is used to control the engines on the boat. There is two EOTs in the boat. One in the front port side of the conning tower and one in the front starboard side of the control room. There is one EOT for each side of the boat, as well as an alarm button, which will toggle the alarm bell on the boat. To select a setting on the EOT hover the mouse over the corresponding text, and left click. To change both EOTs at the same time you can hold shift in addition to left click.
